Shooting Range Rules

General Rules

** No hunting allowed on Club property **

• Membership required, guest must have guest pass and be accompanied by a current member.
• Members are responsible for all guests.
• Paper targets are to be placed on club provided backerboards only.
• Do not place targets on or shoot blue barrels.
• Property is under 24 hr.  surveillance.
• Damage to property may result in fees to fix/replace.
• No Armor Piercing, Incendiary, Flare, or Tracer.
• Only steel targets provided by the club may be used on the range, no carry in steel targets allowed.
• No person handling firearms while others are down range.
• Always point firearms down range when at firing line.
• Action open and magazine detached whenever anyone is down range.
• Pickup targets, litter, empty shells and casings.  We are all volunteers here.
• Hearing & Eye protection is required.
• Holmen Rod & Gun Club is not responsible for accidents, loss, injuries, or theft.
• Anyone not following the above rules will be prosecuted under WI. statute 941-20.

• Failure to adhere to all range rules may result in suspension or termination of membership.

 

Action Pistol A,B,C

• Ranges closed for competition use only.

 

22LR Range D

• .22 Rimfire only. Everything else will ruin steel and you could be held liable for replacement.
• Steel is not to be moved.
• Eye protection required.
• Steel silhouette targets on ties and paper targets on backerboards.
• No centerfire hand guns.
• Sweep up empty brass.
• Read rules attached to Club House.

Multi use Range E

• Rifles, pistols, shotguns(slugs only).
• No birdshot, No buckshot.
• Eye protection required.
• Pick up empty shells and casings.
• Read rules attached to Club House.

Action Shotgun  Range  F

• Shotguns and  #7.5 or #8  birdshot only.
• Do not shoot at steel closer than 10 yards.
• Eye protection required.
• Do not place targets on or shoot blue barrels.
• Pick up empty shells.
• Read rules attached to Club House.

Cowboy Range G,H,I,J,K,L,M

• Closed for competition and special event use only.

Multi use range N

• Rifles, pistols, shotguns (slugs only).
• Eye protection required.
• No birdshot, No buckshot.
• Do not place targets on or shoot blue barrels.
• Pick up empty shells and casings.
• Read rules attached to Club House.

Shotgun patterning range O

• Range O is only to be used to pattern shotguns.
• Birdshot only.
• Eye protection required.
• Pick up empty shells.
• Read rules attached to Club House.

Trap Range P

• Shotguns and #7.5 or #8 birdshot only.
• Eye protection required.
• Shooting of thrown clay targets only.
• No throwers on top of Trap Houses, but OK in line with trap house.
• Pick up empty shells.
• All scorers behind shooters.
• Read rules attached to Club House.

Rifle Range Q

• No birdshot.
• No pistols
• No full-auto.
• No Armor Piercing, Incendiary, Flare, or Tracer.
• NO RAPID FIRE.
• Eye protection required.
• Pick up empty casings.
• Please shoot at posted at the posted positions for 64,122,170 and 223 yards.
• Read rules attached to Club House.

Pistol Range R,S,T

• .45ACP or smaller.
• Only Non-magnum pistol caliber rounds on steel targets.
• Do Not shoot at steel closer than 10 yards.
• Eye protection required.
• Pick up empty casings.
• Read rules attached to Club House.
